Quake 2 Cheat Codes (PC Version)
Warning: Using cheat codes can take away from the challenge and enjoyment of Quake 2. But, if you're set on it, here's a guide.
Activating Cheats
To activate cheats in Quake 2, follow these steps:
- Press the tilde key (`~`) during gameplay to open the console.
- Type the desired cheat code (without quotes) and press Enter.
**Important:** Entering a cheat code will disable achievements/trophies for your current save file.
General Cheats
- god - Enables god mode (invincibility).
- god off - Disables god mode.
- give all - Gives you all available weapons and ammo.
- give ammo - Gives you 100 shells, 200 bullets, 200 cells, 50 grenades, 50 rockets, and 50 slugs.
- give
- Spawns a specific item (replace ` ` with the actual item code. Find lists online by searching for "Quake 2 item codes"). - give health
- Sets your health to a specific value (replace ` ` with a number between 0 and 100). - give armor
- Sets your armor value to a specific amount (replace ` ` with a number). - noclip - Enables noclip mode (fly through walls). (Use with caution!)
- noclip off - Disables noclip mode.
- map
- Teleports you to a specific level (replace ` ` with the actual level name, e.g., base1, base2, etc.). - kill - Kills yourself (use for testing purposes).
- impulse 9 - Spawns a BFG (powerful weapon) at your location.
- timescale
- Sets the game speed (replace ` ` with a number, 1 being normal speed).
Level Skip
Here are some cheat codes to skip directly to specific levels:
- map base1.bsp - Outer Base
- map base2.bsp - Installation
- map base3.bsp - Comm Center
- map train.bsp - Lost Station
- map bunk1.bsp - Ammo Depot
- map ware1.bsp - Supply Station
- map ware2.bsp - Warehouse
- map jail1.bsp - Main Gate
